Itsuka Kadokawa was born in Tokyo and became a fashion model as a teenager. She later went on to study advertising at a school run by Senden Kaigi, Japan's authoritative publication on the advertising industry. Since then, her career took her from copywriting to a beauty magazine producer, from merchandising to interviewing the titans of corporate Japan. In February 2003, Itsuka wrote her first book Wakareta Ho Ga Ii Otoko, Tebanashite Wa Ikenai Ii Otoko (Knowing When to Hang On and When to Say Goodbye). Her sixth book Seiko Suru Otoko Wa Mina Hijo Dearu (Only a Man of Iron Wins a Victory), ranked among the bestseller lists soon after it was published in April 2005, is now being translated to be published in an Asian country. Itsuka is a member of the Japanese PEN, the Japanese Academy Awards Association and the Japan Travel Writers' Organization. Itsuka's passion for research took her to over 35 countries around the world including the African safaris and the Broadway musical. She was married to author Haruki Kadokawa until their divorce in 2003 |
